In 2010, a pivotal moment occurred as certain people close to the DART and BCT, engaged with the County, State and Local elected officials, endeavoring to rejuvenate this crucial service. With unwavering determination, funding was secured, breathing new life into the shuttle program. This marked a turning point, evolving the service to serve a broader spectrum of individuals, enhancing its scope and impact. What began with one bus quickly multiplied to two, and the scope of destinations expanded significantly.

The trajectory of the DART System’s growth was unstoppable, encompassing the addition of DART West and, most recently, the introduction of the DART South routes. These expansions reflect our unyielding commitment to innovatively bolster community connections.

Central to the DART System’s mission is the DART Committee, a collaborative force comprising representatives from the municipalities we proudly serve. This collective oversees critical aspects such as ridership evaluation, funding management, strategic advertising, and tailored shuttle services for diverse town events and activities.

Affordability and accessibility are paramount to us. A nominal fee of $1 is the ticket to ride, while those aged 65 and above enjoy complimentary travel. To further enhance convenience, tokens are made available for local businesses to extend to their valued patrons.

Our funding, a testament to collective support, derives from PENN DOT via SEPTA and is supplemented through partnerships with various municipalities. This financial synergy underscores our commitment to sustainable growth and service excellence.
